The Struggles Of Being Left Handed...

Hello Lovelies,

I am so sorry for my absence, but I've been so busy since school began. I promise to make time in my schedule to post every week. If I mess up in the first month, you have permission to call me out. Being back at school reminded me off all the problems that I, as a left hander, have to face on a regular bases. Being part of the 12% of the population that are left handed definitely makes you look at the world differently. Everything is make for the majority right handers (now known as Bob). *sigh* So here is a list of SOME of the hardships that left handers have to face...

1 | Writing in spiral notepads (or binders)
There are 2 problems here that I have to deal with. Not only does my hand keep hitting the binding in the middle of the notepad, causing me to write awkwardly, but when writing (and it doesn't matter whether it is a fountain pen or a ball point pen), my hand never EVER fails to smudge my work. I regularly have black marks on my pinky as evidence. I can't even begin to tell you how annoying this is.

2 | Desks
Another 2 problems here. Number 1:

Do you see the problem? No? Well, I'll tell you. The desks are on the flippin' right! How the flip am I meant to write? Last time I checked, I wasn't a contortionist.
Number 2: As a student, I used to have seating plans for every lesson. This is relatively normal in British classrooms,  but they had a huge disadvantage. Obviously as there are not that many left handers in an average class of 30, teachers often sat me next to a right hander. This would've been okay. Would've. But I am a very unlucky person and being unlucky usually meant that at a desk of 2, I was sat on the right, while the right hander sat on the left. This meant that in every writing exercise we did, my elbow would constantly knock into Bob's.

3 | Stupid Questions
This one gets to me the most. Why do people think that I'm some sort of alien/superhero just because I'm left handed? I get mostly asked 'Are you left-handed?' 'No, I write with my left hand to make things difficult for myself' -_-.

4 | Scissors
Oh My Giddy Aunt, Scissors! Scissors, and I cannot stress this enough, are the bane of my life. School protects you from the harsh reality, but in the real world, there are no green and yellow left handed scissors

I feel so much better now! I'm glad I'm left handed even with all of the problems. Who else can say they are basically hand royalty? (except, you know, the other left handers)

Love, Peace and Snickers xx }|{

P.S. Quote of the dayIf the left half of the brain controls the right half of the body then only left handed people are in the right mind.
